Pugsley

What do Puggles
look like?
So cute!
Puggles are a mix between a purebred pug and a purebred beagle.
And with their cute, curled tail, stout body and wrinkled forehead, it's no
wonder they are so popular. Several movie stars find them irresistible.
Big-name Puggle owners include Uma Thurman, Jake Gyllenhaal,
Sylvester Stallone, Julianne Moore and James Gandolfini.

The Puggle's short hair is usually black, beige, or silver. They do shed,
but not much. Puggles are energetic, without being hyper or yappy.
They probably will bark once or twice whenever someone comes to the
door. This is standard with many dogs, to alert you that someone is in
pack territory, and to alert the visitor that this territory is occupied.

The Puggle's nose is longer than a pug's, so a Puggle doesn't have the
breathing problems associated with a pug. A Puggle is the ideal pet for
an active family. He loves to run with the kids, and at 14 - 24 pounds is
also very happy sitting calmly in your lap.

Temperament
This breed gets along well with children, other dogs, and any household
pets. They are easy-going, sociable, intelligent, calm and ultimately
charming!

Description
The Puggles Coat will mostly consist of short black, beige, or silver
hairs. And they will have the trademark muzzle of a pug. Puggles are a
relatively new hybrid breed produced by mating a female Beagle to a
male Pug, resulting in a very sweet-tempered, affectionate (but not
hyper) puppy that is very low-maintenance, and family-friendly. These
wrinkly-faced, curly tailed Puppies will become the best of what dogs
are all about; loyalty, affection, and Companionship. This breed is very
eager to please and thrives to be with people. Aside from their cuddlier
features they are durable, hardy dogs that can easily take a bit of
rough-housing.

Height and Weight
Puggles usually grow to be 10-15 inches in height and typically weight
about 15-20lbs.

Health Concerns
Due to their elongated snouts, breathing problems are not a likely
problem; also, the eyes do not bulge on puggles so eye infections are
less common. Since the Bealge is such a hardy, healthy dog the
Puggles will be also. They are not as delicate as the pug.

Grooming
They shed very little and need minimal brushing. Occasional baths and
clipping is required.
